Connecticut

The Connecticut Coalition for Retirement Security (CCRS) is working to preserve and protect the financial security of our public servants.

About Connecticut's Coalition

The Connecticut Coalition for Retirement Security believes all workers deserve to retire with dignity and that no politician or special interest group should ever be given the opportunity to rob them of that ability. In order to successfully preserve and protect the financial security of our public servants, CCRS communicates to communities throughout our state about the impact of public pensions such as:

  • Providing a modest benefit for our public servants at the end of their careers.

  • Recruiting and retaining a highly skilled public workforce who provide vital services such as education, healthcare and public safety.

  • Supporting local businesses in our neighborhoods through the spending of their retirement income.

While making retirement security an ongoing conversation between public employees, their employers and their legislative representatives, the coalition is always working to shift the narrative towards a better understanding of the value of the work that they do. Join us in fighting back against these attacks on the retirement security Connecticut’s working people have earned.

Converting pensions into 401(k)s would raise costs for the state and make it harder to recruit public employees. Learn more in this new report from @ProtectPensions: https://protectpensions.org/2021/02/24/new-report-examines-consequences-switching-public-employees-401ks/
